Winner of local camera club Annual Natural History PDI Competition 2022

Over the years, I have entered a number of images into my local camera clubs PDI competitions and I always enter their Annual Natural History Competition.

There are some fantastic photos entered each year and I do not know how the judge manages to decide who is the winner. There is a different judge each year.

Back in 2016, I managed to win 3rd Place with the image below. It was taken whilst on holiday in the Spanish Pyrenees.

This year (2022) I entered the following three images:

Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens) Eating It’s Prey

Emperor Dragonfly (Anax imperator) Empty Exuvia Case

Yellow Wagtail (Motacilla flava)

The competition was heled on 29th March 2022 and after the judge went through all 39 images entered, I was awarded with 1st Place and 20 out of 20 for my image: Emperor Dragonfly (Anax imperator) Empty Exuvia Case

This means I win a trophy for the year and a certificate. A great start to my 2022 season of photography.

The other two images scored:

Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens) Eating It’s Prey – 18 out of 20
Yellow Wagtail (Motacilla flava) – 16 out of 20
