Thank You Dad & My Photography

It has taken me a while to press the Publish button on this post.

Back at the end of November 2025, my father sadly past away.

Along with my granddad, he introduced me to the world of photography and I believe I would not be the photographer and person I am today without his time and support.

My father will be remembered for the work he did for wildlife conservation, for the talks he gave on butterflies & Kent, the volunteer work he did and the time and help he gave to fixing a problem or giving advise.

It is him that encouraged me to get involved in wildlife and conservation, and I am proud to be continuing to support wildlife Charites and helping maintain my local nature reserve.

One of my father’s favourite butterflies was the Orange Tip (Anthocharis cardamines). In a recent competition, I decided to enter one of the Orange Tip photos I took.

It was a shock and pleasure to see it awarded first place. Perhaps it was a sign and he was watching.

Thank you Dad, and I will continue with my photography always remembering your hints, tips and praise.
